The Division of Design provides technical expertise and assistance to district engineering staff via the following liaisons:
Facilitates the resolution of policy and procedural issues.
Provides technical assistance in geometric, pavement, pedestrian, bicycle, ADA, and drainage design.
Develops and provides guidance which assists in the facilitation and execution in the areas of geometric design support, freeway agreements, route matters, encroachments and utilities, cost estimating, and resolutions of necessity.
Supports planning and project delivery by providing guidance, policy, standards and procedures related to the Landscape Architecture Program and transportation system improvements. Promotes safety, livability, sustainability, excellence in design, and efficient delivery of projects for all modes of transportation. Provides districts with technical assistance, project reviews, and nonstandard special provision approvals. As the subject matter expert for Visual and Aesthetics, collaborates with the Division of Environmental Assistance to review environmental documents.
