Caltrans Division of Aeronautics keeps airports, public safe
SACRAMENTO – In this News Flash, join Caltrans for an up-close and airborne look at the Caltrans Division of Aeronautics as they ensure safety at airports across the state. With the proximity of these airports to populated areas, operational safety of these facilities is a vital priority.
Aeronautics staff are responsible for annually inspecting more than 400 public-use airports and hospital heliports, and all inspectors are required to have an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate.
